Article 1: My Mock Job Interview as a Nurse
Reflecting on My Mock Job Interview as a Nurse
Applying for a nursing position at Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School was an experience that tested both my confidence and my commitment to my chosen path. Even though it was only a mock job interview, the pressure I felt was very real. On the morning of the interview, I was filled with nervous energy. My thoughts kept circling around the questions I might be asked and whether I would appear confident enough. It felt as if every worry I had decided to show up at once, reminding me of how important this moment was for my growth.
When I arrived at the school and sat down for the interview, my heart was racing. However, as the interviewer began speaking, I reminded myself why I wanted to pursue nursing in the first place, to help, to care, and to make a difference. Slowly, my nerves began to settle. I focused on each question, answering with honesty and letting my passion guide me. It wasn’t perfect, but it was real. And as the interview progressed, I started to feel more grounded, as if I was finally stepping into the role I hoped to embody.
The most unforgettable moment came at the end. The interviewer smiled, congratulated me, and said that I got the job. Hearing those words even in a simulated interview filled me with pride and relief. It felt like validation that all my preparation, courage, and determination had paid off.
This experience taught me that fear is natural, but it shouldn’t stop me from pursuing my goals. The mock job interview didn’t just test my skills but it helped me discover a stronger version of myself. It reminded me that confidence grows every time we choose to show up, even when we’re scared. And for me, this was the beginning of stepping into my future as a nurse.
