Article 2: My PESLA LEGS Experience
My PESLA LEGS Experience
Attending the PESLA and LEGS symposium was one of the most enriching experiences I’ve had as a student. The event brought together young leaders from different grade levels, all eager to learn, participate, and grow. From the moment the symposium began, I knew it would be more than just a series of lectures it was an opportunity to understand myself better and strengthen my leadership skills.
The PESLA sessions focused on personal empowerment and social awareness. One of the speakers discussed the importance of knowing our strengths and weaknesses, reminding us that leadership starts with self-understanding. PESLA taught me that leadership is not about being the loudest, but about being responsible, compassionate, and willing to listen.
Meanwhile, the LEGS sessions highlighted the practical side of leadership. The speakers shared insights on time management, handling responsibilities, and becoming role models in school. LEGS helped me understand that leadership is a continuous process one that requires patience, discipline, and a positive attitude.
By the end of the symposium, I felt more confident and inspired. I left with new friends, new lessons, and a clearer vision of the kind of leader I want to become. The PESLA and LEGS symposium was not just an event; it was an experience that encouraged me to grow both as a student and as a person. It reminded me that even small steps can lead to meaningful change, as long as we lead with purpose and heart.
